Mark Meyer - Principal Consultant
Mark Meyer is a coach, strategist and problem solver who works with
leaders to improve business performance and transform their
organizations. His specialty is translating insight into aggressive
growth-oriented strategies and helping ensure strategies execute
successfully and deliver true value.
Meyer has significant strategic and tactical expertise in business
development, investor relations, corporate communications, cultural
transformation, strategy, fundraising and operations.
Meyer has raised from $1.5MM to over $35MM for energy companies and
high-technology ventures.
Meyer has rolled-out complex business transformations at BMC
Software, IBM Corporation and Occidental Petroleum. These included
portfolio management, product lifecycle management, sales force
automation, e-commerce, territory strategies, customer
acquisition/retention/cross-sell, acquisitions and divestitures.
Previous engagements by Meyer have been recognized by Harvard
Business Review, Gartner Group and IBM Corporation for best practices
in marketing, change management and end-user adoption.
Meyer has completed international assignments in the North Sea arena,
Europe and Latin America. He is a member of SPE and AICHE in the
energy segment, and has been active in Houston with emerging
technology forums, such as the Houston Technology Center (HTC) and
the Rice Alliance. He was formerly a member of the Energy Review
Committee for the Gulf Coast Regional Center of Innovation and
Commercialization (GCRCIC), which reviews startup company business
plans for the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (TETF).
Meyer has held management positions in business development, sales,
marketing, planning, operations and information technology. He has
over 20 years of experience in the energy industry and over 20 years
experience in high-technology.
Mark holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from The University of
Texas at Austin with a minor in biomedical engineering. He has
completed research into tertiary oil recovery for a consortium of oil
companies, and has participated in medical research studies at the
University of Texas Health Science Center. Meyer is the recipient of the
Michael E. DeBakey fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Mark is an avid amateur astronomer with 10-inch Newtonian and
Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes.
